| This is your sign. During the course of our lives, we often find ourselves looking for a sign, a signal to help guide the next decision or action. Sometimes things don't seem so easy or clear - some help would be nice, even if it's a small sign to point in the right direction or reinforce our thinking that we're doing the right thing. Read carefully and you'll uncover your own sign that I'm leaving here for you to discover, use and benefit from any time you need to remind yourself. First, you need to remember the truth about yourself. a) You're strong enough to get through anything. The only time you're not is when you cease to live. b) You are capable of accomplishing any task - it's just a matter of being serious enough to take the necessary steps on a regular basis until the successful completion of the major task. c) You're just as good as anyone else. Regardless of where you live, how much money you have, your color, size, shape, gender, opinions, or religion - you are a human being with a powerful mind, body and will - even if you're out of practice in using them. Practice brings strength, and ALL people are capable of practicing. d) Most things are not as hard as we make them. Through the attitudes we practice (that have been shaped by the dishonesty and over-reacting of others over the course of our lives) we tend to have a view of people, things, situations and ourselves that falls on the negative side of reality. We can see things any way we decide, making things "the worst thing ever" is not useful to us at all. In reality, life is just a series of directed efforts over time that produce results. The meaning can be anything we choose. So how do I know what to do? Are you doing this for or against yourself or someone else? If against, find something else to do. If for, continue with your pure intentions. Is this realistically something you can do anything about? If it's not, learn from the situation and move on. If it is, break it down into smaller pieces that you can work on regularly and exercise your discipline to persist every day. Does it help (build) or hurt (take away from)? All our actions should only be to help. Taking something away leaves a void that we have no right to create. Help yourself first, once a comfort level has been reached doing that, work to add joy to the lives of others. Learn the art of balance. Too much or too little is rarely a good thing. Plan things in advance and create a balanced center for yourself that is strong and less prone to excessive swings. Try a little harder. You're stronger and more capable than you've been giving yourself credit for. You'll see it's true once you've given more effort - you'll never truly know your limits until you push them. Be reasonable in your expectations. Nothing on Earth is perfect, that includes all of us. Things aren't usually as instant, effortless and automatic as we might like. Don't set yourself up for heartache by expecting too much for too little effort. Thinking plus work plus time is the formula for just about everything. If something hurts, you don't have to focus as much attention on it. The more you focus on something, the more you experience it - if you constantly focus your attention on pain, you will literally feel more pain. Focus on something useful that serves you as often as you can and then do it even more. Stop procrastinating - it's not helping you. You have a choice, make the better choice and help yourself. Take a shower or bath and just focus on the water hitting you, breathe the steam and take a few minutes to relax afterward so you can more easily focus on the more important things in life to help simplify things. You can have anything you want if you're willing to do the extra work and thinking it takes to get it. You are only as good as your last deed. If your thoughts or actions aren't bringing you happiness, change them OR change the things that make you happy to suit what you're thinking and doing. Life is like a store, you only get what you pick out and pay for. Just when you feel like there's nobody on your side, know that I want you to win! Directed thought and effort over time aren't that big of a deal so I know you can do it. Persist in spite of what others may say. The universe is on your side! All the best to you always. |
