We as human beings on this planet are currently making things worse. By making our weaknesses big and our strengths small we're basically driving the wrong way at 100 miles an hour.

Wow! What a way to start an entry at Inspirational.com - huh?

What I mean is, over time and with practice (repetition) we've taken lame excuses and made them real, we've taken our problems and pushed blame onto someone else. We mistreat, abuse and lie to ourselves and each other. We have a horrible habit of having to make other people worse to make ourselves appear better. We have the nerve to offer good, sound advice that we have no intention of ever taking ourselves.

It's enough already!

Human beings are ruled by habit and habits can be changed at will and through forcing something different. That's all it really takes. For us to sit back and make it some big deal and making it okay to lie to ourselves by saying, "It's too hard, I don't know how, I could probably do better tomorrow or something" is just ridiculous.

If you don't already know better by now, hang out here some more and you will.

Part of the problem is our obsession with all inventions designed to entertain us and make our lives easier. By taking our time and attention and placing it on these other things, we're taking that attention off ourselves and the things that are most important to us. Big mistake to do over time.

People, as a whole are getting lazier in body and mind than ever before and the way things are going reflects that in a big way. Why get up and make dinner when it could be brought to you? Why stop and think about your dreams and the people most important to you if the television is providing enough "action" by itself? Why would you say you like something if it's so much easier to say you don't?

I'm here today to point out our weaknesses so we can begin, as a planet, to work on them and get things going in the right direction again.

Things can only change if first we realize and acknowledge there's a problem that needs fixing. Then of course to accept responsibility for ourselves and start working on us first, not the other people.

So, here are the problems we face in no particular order...

Anger

Look around and you'll see more evidence of anger than you need. Anger is everywhere. It's in people's voices, words and even on their faces. Anger is weak and gives physical proof that a person is not in control.

The goal is NOT to be angry, anger serves no useful purpose. Understanding is the cure for anger. Work to understand the world and it's people, create a focus for your life where your own direction becomes more important than the acts of others and you'll be well on your way to putting the weakness of anger in your past.

Violence

Obviously another big, ugly weakness of the human experience that is of no use. I fail to understand our willingness to continue traditions of ignorance in our society knowing what we know. I'm certain that if ALL people knew what I'm trying to convey through this website in a simple way, violence would cease to exist.

Lack of respect for human life, (the greatest thing we'll ever directly experience in our lifetime) is absolutely stupid. Violence has never solved anything for anyone. Forcing your will upon another person is as wrong as it gets whether you're a person, a country or a continent. Understanding and self control with a set of rules that are simple and work are the cure for ridding ourselves of violence forever.

Being nosey

Many of the problems of the day stem from people being wrapped up in other people. It's way too easy for people to find problems with each other when they've got their heads so far up each other's butts that they're hyper-sensitive to everything everyone else is doing. Get a life! Take all that spare time and figure out what YOU are doing.

Set a plan up for yourself and the people you care about, work on that plan - have plenty of good times and find more ways to enjoy yourself without needing to be so concerned with how other people are or what they're doing. The cure for the nosey person is goals, plain and simple.

Unrealistic expectations

Most of the anger, violence and misunderstanding in the world comes from people who hold unrealistic expectations of things and people. Because of disposable products, drive through everything and remote controls, we've come to think things should be better and easier than is realistic for no good reason.

Listen, as your friend I'm telling you and asking you to pass along a simple fact - stuff takes work to happen. Sometimes it takes a LOT of work over a LONG time. Expecting things to just come to you with no work or for people to hold themselves to ideals you're not willing to live yourself is just silly. We know better but we're just a little out of reality like spoiled children. People who hold themselves to a higher standard tend to care less about the standard others are willing to settle for.

Laziness

Oh yeah, the big one. Every person living or dead has had their hands full here at one point or another. Being lazy has cost us all of our dreams somewhere down the line repeatedly. Since this weakness stems from lack of direction, I'll jump right to that.

Lack of direction

This one is huge. If the people of the world all had their own personal plans and were living those plans out, most of the problems the world faces would just disappear over time. It's true!

If we set up a simple set of rules to live by (and agree) then sat back and thought about what made us happy [not "us" as a whole, but us as individuals], like what makes life worth waking up? What are the things you enjoy doing (or could enjoy doing) the most? What kind of things would you like to experience, see and do? Make plans based on those things. Work hard and focus your attention on those things day after day and make adjustments when necessary.

If we all lived with a self created direction, with a purpose each and every day, we could definitely end needless suffering and take the evolution of our kind to the next level. If you have direction in your life, you WANT to do it because it's yours.

Focusing on difference instead of sameness

As a human beings, we have the gift of being different. Like the birds, fish, cats, trees and everything else - each and every person on this planet is different. With that difference comes difference in appearance, difference in personal preference, style choices, music taste and beliefs.

The problem is that we as a society are too ignorant to just accept that and move on. Our differences are what make us learn, our differences are how we tell our best friend from that guy over there selling ice cream. If it weren't for differences, life would be intolerably boring. There would be no need for colors or styles in anything, one answer would fit all problems, life just wouldn't work.

Here's where maturity and understanding come into play. Just because things or people are different, it doesn't mean they're any better or worse, they just are. If someone is shorter, or taller, or thinner, or fatter, or happier, or wealthier, or differently abled than you does NOT matter in any way shape or form. They are as you are. Just a person who has things to do and trouble and concerns and people who care about them. JUST like YOU. They have a head, with a mind, just like you. Their family and/or friends would miss them if they were gone, they matter to other people, just like you.

The ways we are the same are much more important than the ways we're different and focusing on these things is how we turn ignorance into understanding and become better, smarter people. Directed focus, over time is how things get done.

Too little positive attention on things we can change and too much attention on things we can't.

I see plenty of people who waste entirely too much of their time, attention and energy on things they can't do anything about. Like the other things, this is a weakness that robs precious resources from our lives and plays a part in keeping us from meeting our dreams in person.

First major point, the past is the past so leave it there. Anything negative that's ever happened in your life was a lesson and if you're focusing your attention there and feeling terrible for any length of time it's obvious that lesson didn't hit home yet. Life is designed to make us stronger and wiser over time - so by the time we're old we can end our trip the way we started - playing and goofing off, daydreaming and sleeping, the sweetest experiences that can never be taken away from us.

Next point is getting with the program, recognizing the things you can't change and adjusting yourself to them. People spend so much time complaining about things that just are, no matter how they feel about it. Like the weather, if it's winter and it might be cold - wear a jacket instead of whining to everyone how cold you are. Still cold? Get a better jacket! Still cold? Buy some gloves and a hat. The weather is going to happen no matter what we think, say or do. It is what it is, like many other things and the ONLY thing we can realistically do is change the way we currently think we feel about it. We can think any way we want about anything. Our entire life is totally up to us.

Fear

We've heard from many sources over the years that fear stands for false evidence that appears real. Unfortunately people pass information on like this without digesting and using it. It's so true though, fears are things we totally make up and it's important that we truly understand and find our way in spite of them.

Sadly, there are many fears that keep us from the things we want for no good reason. There are times when fear is just laziness in disguise. There are things we tell ourselves are too hard, or boring or just not the easiest path possible. This is one of the major roots of procrastination and must be dealt with on a regular basis with practice if we honestly expect to get anything done.

Some fear is useful as it keeps us from getting really hurt, like wearing seatbelts in a car. But take the time to draw a realistic, rational line separating what is for your own good and what is just nonsense holding you back. Once you decide what's nonsense, make a plan to practice doing the thing you're "afraid" of and give yourself all the permission in the world to make mistakes along the way. People are human and humans will never be 100% perfect. That means expect mistakes, plan for them and find a way forward correcting the mistakes as they happen.

Lying, cheating and stealing

None of these things are acceptable and come from lack of understanding and respect for human life. People who respect the lives of others and understand that all human feelings are the same as their own would never do any of the things listed. They may have in the past out of ignorance, but you can bet that they don't now or would ever.

Simply put the golden rule is a gem when it's not just thrown around like a cliche but understood, used and lived by. The golden rule states, "Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you" which is just perfect. If you don't like being lied to, don't lie. If you don't like how it feels if you're cheated or stolen from, never do those things either because all our feelings are the same. It hurts just as much when I get lied to as it would if I were lying to you. If you ever expect to be respected, it should be high on your list to treat others with respect.

Don't take something that doesn't belong to you, don't trick someone into giving it to you or guilt them into letting you have it.. be responsible for yourself and earn it on your own if you feel it's so worth having. The best medicine for getting a good night's sleep is a full day of earning your own way in life and building things up instead of tearing them down. We're all just people, just like you. We're lucky to have the things we do and just want to enjoy them, respect that for yourself and everyone else.

So, why did I feel the need to list these so seemingly negative things on Inspirational.com? Well, it's simple really - because we can change anything we want. We can literally live any way we choose as long as it doesn't cause harm for anyone else. That's pretty sweet because it truly means you can feel how you want to feel, think, act, be and spend your time exactly how you want with some direction, focus and work. And that's my entire point with this website to help you ALL to truly be, do and have ANYTHING you want. The most beautiful part is the only thing that comes from me is a simpler way of putting knowledge that has always existed. All the real magic comes from YOU, your dreams, your plans and your actions.

Change yourself and you change your world.

You can do anything!
